TROIA'S FOOD AND CULTURE WALKING TOUR | This nature paradise has been the dream of magnates and the refugee for the country's wealthiest classes
Troia is often called "the Portuguese Miami" mostly for its excellent white-sandy beaches, year-round mild climate, immense leisure activities, such as: dolphin watching, kitesurfing, windsurfing and shopping; for its unique, luxurious and genuine environment that is breathed here, and of course, its haute restaurants.
Our Tour starts in the Marina facing the Sado River and the Troia Design Hotel decorated with hundreds of contemporary works from Portuguese Painters and Artists. After, we will go through the footpaths along the beach to enjoy breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the incredibly beautiful Arrábida Natural Park, while you listen the history and the stories of this Landscapes, the Alentejo Coast and the Resort.
If you're a true food lover, you will love the last part of our tour while we get back to the center towards the Troia Resort. Some local delicious tapas carefully selected by your Guide are waiting for you: homemade artisan bread, chorizo, cheese and tortas from Azeitão, Red Wine from the Herdade da Comporta and a Muscatel from Setúbal. Come with me so that you try the best tapas in town!
Note: To complete a cultural visit to Troia is highly recommended a visit to the Roman Ruins (1st-6th Centuries). Located in the former Island of Ácala and 6 Km away from the Marina it was once the largest fish-salting center of the Roman Empire. The Guided Tours are given by local archaeologists.
