BEJA WALKING TOUR | The "Queen of the flat lands" impresses everyone with its rich and diversified heritage

Since its foundation, the 2500 year-old-town of Beja has been the richest and most important historic town on Southern Alentejo, and its heritage still today remind us of the presence of many civilizations.

With this high cultural and environmental interest, we will walk through the Old Town, where we find the República Square, which lead us to the two main monuments of Beja. The Church of Our Lady of Prazeres, known as Alentejo's Sistine chapel and the Queen Leonor's Museum, a former convent known for its church and cloister filled with golden carved wood and hundreds of Sevilian glazed tiles, and for the platonic love story of the nun Mariana Alcoforado and a Marchal of France.

To round off the visit, we will use our energy to climb up to the top of the castle and admire the impressive views over the town and the flat lands that surround Beja, and that will leave you speechless.
